Parent Teacher Conferences are an important opportunity to connect, collaborate, and support each child’s success. We ask all parents to schedule a time to meet with their child’s teacher to discuss academic progress, classroom behavior, and ways to continue building a strong foundation for growth.

At Most Holy Rosary, we believe education is a partnership between home and school. These conferences allow families and teachers to work together toward shared goals—ensuring every student reaches their full potential.

No School Announcement

There will be no school on Tuesday, November 4th for Teacher Professional Development Day. This day allows our teachers to collaborate, plan, and continue their professional growth to provide the best possible learning experience for our students.

There will also be no school on Tuesday, November 11 in observance of Veterans Day. We take this day to honor and remember the brave men and women who have served our country with courage and dedication.

Classes will resume on Wednesday at 8:00 AM following each of these days off. We hope our students and families enjoy the time away and return refreshed and ready to learn.
Safe Environment Training at Most Holy Rosary

Most Holy Rosary School is hosting two Safe Environment Training sessions this fall to ensure the safety and well-being of all students. These sessions are required for anyone volunteering or working with children in our school community.

The Recertification class will be held on Tuesday, November 19th at 5:30 PM, and the Initial training class will take place on Monday, December 1st at 5:30 PM. Both sessions are in-person and designed to keep participants up to date with the Diocese of Syracuse’s Safe Environment requirements.

We encourage all parents, guardians, and volunteers to attend the session appropriate for their training status. Please click here to register for the recertification class, and click here for the initial training class.

Completing Safe Environment Training helps ensure that Most Holy Rosary remains a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment for all students. Your participation is vital to maintaining the highest standards of child safety in our school community.
The Taste of Strathmore Returns This Saturday

Get ready for an evening of exceptional food, community, and purpose. This Saturday, Most Holy Rosary School will host the annual Taste of Strathmore, one of the most anticipated events of the year. Guests will enjoy an elegant, semi-formal evening featuring local restaurants and chefs, live music, a silent auction, and raffle drawings—all in support of our students and the mission of Most Holy Rosary School.

The Taste of Strathmore takes place on Saturday, November 8th, beginning at 5:30 PM at Most Holy Rosary School, 1031 Bellevue Avenue, Syracuse, NY 13207. This 21-and-over event offers the perfect opportunity to gather with friends, support Catholic education, and celebrate the strong sense of community that makes MHR so special.

No Tricks, Just Treats at Spooktacular Sunday

Mark your calendars for a frightfully fun afternoon! The Most Holy Rosary Parent-Teacher Committee (PTC) invites families to Spooktacular Sunday on October 26, from 3:30–5:00 PM.

Bring your family, a dish to pass for the potluck, and don’t forget your trick-or-treat bags. The event will feature trick-or-treating, games, and activities for kids of all ages. It’s the perfect way to celebrate the season with friends, family, and our school community.

No registration is required—just bring your Halloween spirit and get ready for a spooktacular afternoon of fun.
Fall Clothing Drive – Free for the Community

Most Holy Rosary Elementary School will host its Fall Clothing Drive on Sunday, October 19, from 1:00–3:00 PM in the school cafeteria.

This event is free and open to everyone, offering clothing for babies, children, teens, and adults in all seasons and styles. From everyday essentials to warm layers for fall and winter, families can find a wide variety of quality items at no cost.

No registration is required; stop by! The Fall Clothing Drive is part of MHR’s commitment to serving the community, supporting families, and promoting sustainability through reuse. All are welcome, spread the word, and join us!
Join the Spooktacular Stroll and Support Most Holy Rosary

Most Holy Rosary is excited to partner with the Spooktacular Stroll, a family-friendly Halloween walk-through experience at Long Branch Park in Liverpool. This event runs on select evenings from October 9 through October 26 and features a half-mile paved trail filled with immersive Halloween-themed displays, larger-than-life sets, and creative lighting.

This year, MHR families, friends, and alumni can enjoy the event while giving back to our school. For every ticket purchased using the code MHRS25, Most Holy Rosary will receive $5. It is a fun and easy way to support MHR. Click here to purchase tickets!

What to Expect at the Spooktacular Stroll

The walk includes a series of themed areas such as Witch’s Way, Pumpkin Patch, Spider Forest, Skeleton Graveyard, Villains Village, Mummy Mansion, Creepy Castle, and even a Dinosaur Dungeon. Each scene features detailed wooden structures, lighting effects, and festive decorations that bring the Halloween spirit to life.

The paved trail makes the experience accessible for strollers and wheelchairs, making it a great outing for families with children of all ages.

How to Participate and Support MHR

There are three easy ways to help Most Holy Rosary through this fundraiser:
1. Purchase tickets using code MHRS25.
  Each ticket purchased with the code generates a $5 donation to the school.

Chess Club Returns This Fall at Most Holy Rosary

Calling all future grandmasters — Chess Club is back at MHR this fall! This exciting 8-week program, led by Central NY Chess, gives students the chance to sharpen their skills, learn new strategies, and take part in fun, friendly competition.

Chess Club will run October 1 – November 19, with sessions held on Wednesdays from 2:50 – 3:50 PM right after school. Students can be picked up in the back parking lot at the end of the session, or they may continue on to afterschool.

The program is open to students in Kindergarten through 6th grade. The cost is $90 for the full 8 weeks, which includes professional instruction, weekly lessons, and even in-class tournaments with prizes! To register, simply complete the form.

Soccer Shots Returns to Most Holy Rosary This Fall!

We’re excited to announce that Soccer Shots is back at Most Holy Rosary this fall! This nationally recognized youth soccer program is designed to help kids build confidence, teamwork, and coordination — all while having fun on the field.

Soccer Shots will run from September 25 to November 13, 2025, taking place right after school in the MHR gym. The program is open to children ages 4–7, with sessions running from 2:45 to 3:30 PM. Families can pick up their children directly from the gym at dismissal, or students can head to afterschool once the session wraps up.

Lace Up for the Kids Fun Run in Strathmore

Get ready for a morning of family fun in Syracuse’s beautiful Strathmore neighborhood! On Sunday, September 21^st at 9:00 AM, kids 12 and under are invited to join the Kids Fun Run at Upper Onondaga Park.

This free event is the perfect way to get kids moving and enjoying the outdoors. Every child who participates will receive free Gannon’s Ice Cream — the sweetest way to celebrate crossing the finish line! Children must be accompanied by an adult, and sign-ups will take place near the Picnic Pavilion before the run begins. Please note: “modified” runners are not eligible for this event.

The fun doesn’t stop there! Parents and older kids can take part in the 4 Mile Parks Run starting at 9:30 AM in Onondaga Park. This annual run/walk supports the Greater Strathmore Neighborhood Association and is a great way to give back while enjoying a scenic course.
