  1. MHR’s 2nd Annual Black History Celebration: Culture, Community and Connection

    Most Holy Rosary Elementary School is excited to host our 2nd Annual Black History Celebration on Saturday, February 28th from 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM in the MHR Gymnasium. This special event is a joyful afternoon dedicated to honoring Black history, celebrating culture, and strengthening the bonds within our school and parish community.

    Families and friends can look forward to an afternoon filled with live music, dancing, delicious food, and exciting performances by local talent. DJ Smoove will keep the energy high as we gather together in fellowship and celebration. This is a wonderful opportunity for our students to experience culture through music, movement, and shared stories in a welcoming and faith-filled environment.

    We invite families to be part of the celebration by signing up to volunteer and/or bring a dish to share. Your participation helps make this event vibrant and truly reflective of our community spirit.

    The event is free and open to the public, with an opportunity to make a donation in support of Most Holy Rosary Elementary School.

  2. St. Patrick’s Dinner Supporting MHR Families

    At Most Holy Rosary School, we are grateful for community partners who help ensure that every child has access to a strong, faith‑centered education. One such opportunity to support this mission is the St. Patrick’s Dinner hosted by Father Champlin’s Guardian Angel Society. One of those partners is Father Champlin’s Guardian Angel Society, whose mission directly supports MHR students and families through tuition assistance.

    On March 8, 2026, from 4:00–7:00 PM, the Guardian Angel Society will host its 10th Annual St. Patrick’s Dinner, a beloved community event that combines tradition, fellowship, and purpose. Proceeds from this event help fund tuition assistance and student support programs that make a meaningful difference for families at Most Holy Rosary and other Catholic schools throughout the Syracuse area.

    Guests can enjoy a traditional corned beef and cabbage dinner, live Irish music by Tommy Connors, a performance by the Francis Academy of Irish Dance, basket raffles, and Irish coffee. Dinner options include both dine‑in and take‑out, making it easy for families to participate.

    For many MHR families, tuition assistance from the Guardian Angel Society helps bridge the gap and makes Catholic education possible. Events like this directly impact our students by keeping them in classrooms where they can grow academically, spiritually, and socially.

  3. Fall Clothing Drive – Free for the Community

    Most Holy Rosary Elementary School will host its Fall Clothing Drive on Sunday, October 19, from 1:00–3:00 PM in the school cafeteria.

    This event is free and open to everyone, offering clothing for babies, children, teens, and adults in all seasons and styles. From everyday essentials to warm layers for fall and winter, families can find a wide variety of quality items at no cost.

    No registration is required; stop by! The Fall Clothing Drive is part of MHR’s commitment to serving the community, supporting families, and promoting sustainability through reuse. All are welcome, spread the word, and join us!

  4. Tee Off for a Great Cause at the Angel Scholar Golf Event

    Join us for the 21st Annual Angel Scholar Golf Tournament on June 30 to support scholarships and mentoring for students in need.

    Get ready to swing into summer while supporting a mission close to our hearts. The 21st Annual Angel Scholar Golf Tournament will take place on Monday, June 30th, at the beautiful Tuscarora Golf Club in Marcellus, NY.

    This exciting event brings together friends, community members, and supporters for a fun-filled day of golf, camaraderie, and giving back. All proceeds benefit Father Champlin’s Guardian Angel Society, which provides life-changing scholarships, mentoring, and academic support to students in need.

    • Registration: 10:30 AM
    • BBQ Lunch: 11:00 AM (included with registration)
    • Shotgun Start: 12:15 PM

    Attendees will enjoy a day on the green complete with on-course contests, raffles, and a hearty BBQ lunch featuring pulled pork, chicken, salt potatoes, baked beans, salad, and more.

    This tournament is one of the Guardian Angel Society’s largest annual fundraisers, playing a vital role in continuing Father Champlin’s legacy of education, faith, and opportunity.

    Looking for a great way to keep your child moving and engaged this spring? CNY Flag Rugby is open to boys and girls in Kindergarten through 12th grade and offers a fun, fast-paced way to build skills, make friends, and stay active.

    This non-contact program introduces young athletes to the fundamentals of rugby in a safe and supportive environment. Whether your child is trying the sport for the first time or returning for another season, Flag Rugby is a great way to boost confidence, encourage teamwork, and enjoy the great outdoors.

    Most Holy Rosary School is featured in The Catholic Sun for its Black History Month Celebration, highlighting unity, culture, and community.

    We are thrilled to share that Most Holy Rosary School was featured in The Catholic Sun for our first annual Black History Month Celebration! This special event, held on February 28, brought together students, families, and faculty for an evening of music, dance, storytelling, and cultural appreciation.

    The celebration highlighted the diversity within our school community and reinforced our commitment to inclusivity, love, and unity. Organized by a dedicated group of parents alongside Principal Sherri Stone, the event was a collaborative effort to go beyond classroom lessons and create a meaningful, school-wide experience. The night was filled with the vibrant beats of African drums, the energy of dance performances, and the delicious flavors of traditional ethnic foods.

    Father Fred Mannara, pastor of Most Holy Rosary Church, was among those in attendance and shared his appreciation for the school’s welcoming atmosphere. He also acknowledged how the recent addition of over 40 students from Cathedral Academy at Pompei (CAP) has further enriched our community, strengthening the bonds between students.

    Principal Stone emphasized the importance of events like this, stating, “We have such a diverse population in our school. We teach love and acceptance of everyone. I want to make sure that everyone is represented.”

    We are incredibly proud that our celebration was recognized by The Catholic Sun and grateful for the opportunity to share our mission with a wider audience. This event is just the beginning, and we look forward to making it an annual tradition that continues to bring our community together in celebration and learning.
