Celebrating Black History at Most Holy Rosary Elementary School

Most Holy Rosary Elementary School hosted its annual Black History Month Celebration on February 28th, bringing together students, families, and community members for an evening centered on culture, history, and unity.

The program featured African drumming from ADANFO Ensemble, dance performances from Extreme Pressure Dance Company and Vertical Liturgical Dance Ministry, music from DJ Smoove and a special musical performance by Sister Alice Young. Each group contributed to a well-rounded and engaging program that highlighted the richness and impact of Black history and culture, and the energy in the room reflected both pride and appreciation as performers shared their talents and traditions with our school community.

Thank you to Aubri Lanier, Courtney Williams, and Leslie Earsley for planning and organizing this meaningful event. We are also grateful to Nikita Jankowski for serving as MC and guiding the evening so smoothly.

We appreciate the many volunteers, families, and supporters who helped make the evening a success. Events like this reinforce our commitment to celebrating diversity and building a strong, welcoming school community.

MHR’s 2nd Annual Black History Celebration: Culture, Community and Connection

Most Holy Rosary Elementary School is excited to host our 2nd Annual Black History Celebration on Saturday, February 28th from 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM in the MHR Gymnasium. This special event is a joyful afternoon dedicated to honoring Black history, celebrating culture, and strengthening the bonds within our school and parish community.

Families and friends can look forward to an afternoon filled with live music, dancing, delicious food, and exciting performances by local talent. DJ Smoove will keep the energy high as we gather together in fellowship and celebration. This is a wonderful opportunity for our students to experience culture through music, movement, and shared stories in a welcoming and faith-filled environment.

We invite families to be part of the celebration by signing up to volunteer and/or bring a dish to share. Your participation helps make this event vibrant and truly reflective of our community spirit.

St. Patrick’s Dinner Supporting MHR Families

At Most Holy Rosary School, we are grateful for community partners who help ensure that every child has access to a strong, faith‑centered education. One such opportunity to support this mission is the St. Patrick’s Dinner hosted by Father Champlin’s Guardian Angel Society. One of those partners is Father Champlin’s Guardian Angel Society, whose mission directly supports MHR students and families through tuition assistance.

On March 8, 2026, from 4:00–7:00 PM, the Guardian Angel Society will host its 10th Annual St. Patrick’s Dinner, a beloved community event that combines tradition, fellowship, and purpose. Proceeds from this event help fund tuition assistance and student support programs that make a meaningful difference for families at Most Holy Rosary and other Catholic schools throughout the Syracuse area.

Guests can enjoy a traditional corned beef and cabbage dinner, live Irish music by Tommy Connors, a performance by the Francis Academy of Irish Dance, basket raffles, and Irish coffee. Dinner options include both dine‑in and take‑out, making it easy for families to participate.

For many MHR families, tuition assistance from the Guardian Angel Society helps bridge the gap and makes Catholic education possible. Events like this directly impact our students by keeping them in classrooms where they can grow academically, spiritually, and socially.

Laser Tag Night at Fun Warehouse: A Fundraiser for MHR

Most Holy Rosary School is excited to invite families, friends, and the community to a high-energy Fundraiser Night at Fun Warehouse, (222 Chapel Drive, Camillus, NY 13219) on Friday, January 9, from 6:00 to 10:00 PM. This event is a great way to come together, have fun, and support our students in a meaningful way.

The evening will feature unlimited laser tag battles, making it a night full of excitement and friendly competition. Guests will also enjoy hot, cheesy pizza along with soda and water, creating the perfect combination of fun and food for all ages.

The cost to attend is $22 per person, and all proceeds from the event will benefit the Most Holy Rosary 6th Grade Class. Funds raised will help support class activities and opportunities, making this a fun night with a purpose.

We encourage families to bring friends, relatives, and classmates to help make this fundraiser a success. Events like this highlight the strong sense of community and school spirit that makes Most Holy Rosary so special.

No School Announcement

There will be no school on Tuesday, November 4th for Teacher Professional Development Day. This day allows our teachers to collaborate, plan, and continue their professional growth to provide the best possible learning experience for our students.

There will also be no school on Tuesday, November 11 in observance of Veterans Day. We take this day to honor and remember the brave men and women who have served our country with courage and dedication.

Classes will resume on Wednesday at 8:00 AM following each of these days off. We hope our students and families enjoy the time away and return refreshed and ready to learn.
Safe Environment Training at Most Holy Rosary

Most Holy Rosary School is hosting two Safe Environment Training sessions this fall to ensure the safety and well-being of all students. These sessions are required for anyone volunteering or working with children in our school community.

The Recertification class will be held on Tuesday, November 19th at 5:30 PM, and the Initial training class will take place on Monday, December 1st at 5:30 PM. Both sessions are in-person and designed to keep participants up to date with the Diocese of Syracuse’s Safe Environment requirements.

The Taste of Strathmore Returns This Saturday

Get ready for an evening of exceptional food, community, and purpose. This Saturday, Most Holy Rosary School will host the annual Taste of Strathmore, one of the most anticipated events of the year. Guests will enjoy an elegant, semi-formal evening featuring local restaurants and chefs, live music, a silent auction, and raffle drawings—all in support of our students and the mission of Most Holy Rosary School.

Mark your calendars for a frightfully fun afternoon! The Most Holy Rosary Parent-Teacher Committee (PTC) invites families to Spooktacular Sunday on October 26, from 3:30–5:00 PM.

Bring your family, a dish to pass for the potluck, and don’t forget your trick-or-treat bags. The event will feature trick-or-treating, games, and activities for kids of all ages. It’s the perfect way to celebrate the season with friends, family, and our school community.

Fall Clothing Drive – Free for the Community
