With an increase in students being sent home due to illness, this is a good time to review our school’s health policies. To help keep all students and staff healthy, we kindly ask parents and guardians to follow these guidelines when determining if their child is well enough to attend school.
When to Keep Your Child Home
Please do not send your child to school if they have experienced any of the following symptoms in the past 24 hours:
- Fever
- Vomiting
- Diarrhea
- Chills
- Sore Throat
- Strep throat (must be on antibiotics for at least 24 hours before returning)
- Severe cold with a very runny nose or persistent cough, especially if it disrupts sleep
If your child develops symptoms during the school day, our teacher or school nurse will assess whether they need to go home. If your child is too ill to remain at school or may be contagious, you will be contacted to arrange for pickup. For more information, please click here.
Keeping Emergency Contacts Updated
To ensure we can reach you when needed, please make sure your child’s teacher and the school nurse have a current phone number where you can be reached during the day. If your contact information changes, notify the school immediately.
We understand that childcare arrangements can be challenging, but having a backup plan in place is essential. Keeping sick children home helps prevent the spread of illness and ensures a healthier school environment for everyone.
