Keep Brains Sharp with Summer Tutoring

At Most Holy Rosary Elementary School, we’re committed to helping students stay on track and avoid the “summer slide.” This summer, families can choose from two expert-led tutoring programs tailored to meet the needs of students entering Kindergarten through 6th grade. Check out our Summer Tutoring options.

Math Support with Jennifer Boice

Beginning July 14^th, students can receive focused math instruction twice a week for 45 minutes. Sessions are available in small groups ($30/week) or privately ($60/week) and will take place in the school library. This flexible program is designed to fit into your family’s summer schedule while providing meaningful academic support.

Reading, Writing & Spelling Support with Patty Conover

Miss Patty offers science-based literacy tutoring with small group or private options. Her offerings include:
- Structured Reading Lessons using UFLI or Rewards Intermediate (2 lessons/week)
- Spelling Groups with live meetings and online practice ($10/week)
- Fluency & Sentence Writing private sessions using grade-level texts ($40/week)

Summer Fun and Learning at MHR’s STEAM Camp

This summer, Most Holy Rosary Elementary School invites students to spark their curiosity and creativity at our engaging Summer STEAM Camps! Led by Mrs. Rosenthal and Mrs. Flood, each session combines hands-on fun with learning across Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math.

Camp Details
- Who: Open to students entering Kindergarten through 5th grade
- When: Tuesday through Thursday, 8:30 AM – 2:00 PM
- Where: Most Holy Rosary School, 1031 Bellevue Ave, Syracuse
- Cost: $150 per 3-day session (Discounts available for multiple sessions or children)
- Max: 30 students per session
Camp Themes
- July 1–3: Superhero Science
- July 8–10: Engineering Extravaganza
- August 5–7: Explore the Senses

Observing Juneteenth: No School on Thursday, June 19th

Most Holy Rosary Elementary School will be closed on Thursday, June 19, in recognition of Juneteenth, a federal holiday commemorating the end of slavery in the United States. Classes will resume on Friday, June 20^th. Thank you for your continued support and partnership.
Celebrating New Beginnings: Graduation Week at Most Holy Rosary

As we approach the end of another remarkable school year, Most Holy Rosary Elementary School is proud to celebrate the accomplishments of our students during Graduation Week. These joyful milestones are a testament to each child’s growth, hard work, and the unwavering support of their families and teachers.

We invite our Most Holy Rosary families to join us in honoring these special moments:

Graduation Dates
- Friday, June 20^th
  - Pre-Kindergarten 4 Graduation – 9:00 AM in the cafeteria
  - Pre-Kindergarten 3 Moving Up Ceremony – 10:30 AM in the library
- Monday, June 23^rd
  - Kindergarten Graduation – 10:00 AM in the library
- Tuesday, June 24^th
  - 6th Grade Graduation and Closing Mass – 10:00 AM at Most Holy Rosary Church
    
    Please note that students in grades 1-5 should wear dress uniforms for this special occasion.
  - The last day of school is June 24^th and will have a noon dismissal.
Each event offers an opportunity to reflect on the year’s blessings and look ahead with hope and excitement. Whether it’s our youngest learners moving up or sixth graders preparing for their next chapter, we are so proud of every student.

Get Ready for Kindergarten: Information Night at Most Holy Rosary

Calling all parents of future kindergarteners! Most Holy Rosary Elementary School invites you to join us for Kindergarten Information Night on Wednesday, June 4^th, from 6:00–7:00 PM. This important evening will take place in the Kindergarten Room at our school and is for parents only.

This event is designed to help families learn more about what to expect as your child begins their educational journey at Most Holy Rosary. You’ll have the opportunity to:
- Meet our caring and dedicated kindergarten teacher
- Explore the curriculum, classroom routines, and expectations
- Ask questions during a Q&A session and tour the classroom
Whether you’re new to Most Holy Rosary or just want to get a better sense of the kindergarten experience, we welcome you to come and see what makes our program so special. We’re proud to offer a strong foundation where faith and academics meet. We look forward to welcoming you!
Squeeze the Day! Lemonade Stand to Support Sarah’s Guest House

On Thursday, June 6^th, Most Holy Rosary Elementary School’s Student Council is putting compassion into action with a special after-school event to support a cause close to our hearts.

Join us for a Lemonade Stand in the back parking lot immediately after dismissal, with all proceeds going to benefit Sarah’s Guest House. This incredible local organization provides housing, meals, and support for families whose loved ones are in the hospital or undergoing long-term treatments in Syracuse.

Your support not only refreshes your afternoon—it helps bring comfort and care to families going through challenging times. Let’s show how sweet giving back can be!
Celebrate the End of the School Year at the PTC BBQ!

As the school year winds down, we invite all Most Holy Rosary families to join us for some well-earned fun, food, and fellowship at the PTC’s End-of-School BBQ!

Event Details
- Date: Sunday, June 8th
- Time: 3:00 – 6:00 PM
- Location: Most Holy Rosary School
This annual tradition is one of our favorite ways to wrap up the year. It’s a chance for families to connect outside the classroom, for students to celebrate their accomplishments, and for everyone to relax and enjoy each other’s company before summer officially begins.

The afternoon will be filled with games, music, and plenty of laughter. Bring lawn chairs, picnic blankets, and most importantly, a dish to pass! Whether it’s a side, salad, or dessert, your contribution helps make this event special (and delicious!).

Let’s send off the school year with joy and gratitude. We can’t wait to celebrate with you!
Tee Off for a Great Cause at the Angel Scholar Golf Event

Get ready to swing into summer while supporting a mission close to our hearts. The 21^stAnnual Angel Scholar Golf Tournament will take place on Monday, June 30^th, at the beautiful Tuscarora Golf Club in Marcellus, NY.

This exciting event brings together friends, community members, and supporters for a fun-filled day of golf, camaraderie, and giving back. All proceeds benefit Father Champlin’s Guardian Angel Society, which provides life-changing scholarships, mentoring, and academic support to students in need.

Event Details:
- Registration: 10:30 AM
- BBQ Lunch: 11:00 AM (included with registration)
- Shotgun Start: 12:15 PM
Attendees will enjoy a day on the green complete with on-course contests, raffles, and a hearty BBQ lunch featuring pulled pork, chicken, salt potatoes, baked beans, salad, and more.

This tournament is one of the Guardian Angel Society’s largest annual fundraisers, playing a vital role in continuing Father Champlin’s legacy of education, faith, and opportunity.

Memorial Day Break: A Time to Remember and Honor

As we prepare to honor Memorial Day, please note that Most Holy Rosary Elementary School will be closed from Friday, May 23rd, through Monday, May 26th.

This extended weekend gives our families time to rest, reflect, and remember the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. We are grateful for their sacrifice and hold their families in our prayers.

We wish all of our students, staff, and families a safe and meaningful Memorial Day weekend. School will resume on Tuesday, May 27th.

Spring is in the air, and so is music! You are cordially invited to Most Holy Rosary Elementary School’s Spring Concert on Thursday, May 22nd, at 6:30 PM in the lower church.

Our students have been working hard, practicing their songs and preparing for a joyful evening filled with music and celebration. From sweet harmonies to cheerful rhythms, the concert is sure to lift your spirits and showcase the talent and heart of our school community.

Following the performance, we hope you’ll stay and join us for cookies and fellowship. It’s a lovely opportunity to connect with fellow families, celebrate our students, and enjoy a sense of community that makes Most Holy Rosary so special. We look forward to seeing you there!
