Most Holy Rosary is thrilled to announce that registration is now open for the 2025–2026 Parochial League basketball season! Organized by Kerry Petrie for the past 13 years, the program has been a cornerstone of our school community, offering students the opportunity to compete, learn, and grow both on and off the court.
The Parochial League brings together students from Diocesan elementary schools across Syracuse. Boys and girls in grades 3–6 will compete within their age groups, with teams sometimes combining grades to ensure full rosters.
What Families Can Expect:
- Practices begin in November, scheduled once or twice per week based on coaches’ availability.
- Games run from December through late February/early March, usually on Sundays, with occasional Friday or Saturday matchups.
- Teams may also have the opportunity to participate in special tournaments outside of the regular season.
- Games feature referees, scorekeeping, and plenty of fun, providing both competition and a chance to build teamwork and sportsmanship.
- Uniforms are provided, and there is no cost to play.
Player and Family Commitments:
- Student athletes must remain in good academic and behavioral standing to participate.
- Families and spectators are expected to model positive behavior and support good sportsmanship at every game.
Each team requires two coaches, and parent volunteers are essential to make the season possible. If you’re interested in coaching, please sign up—Virtus certification is required and must be up to date. Without coaches, teams cannot be formed, so we encourage families to consider this rewarding opportunity. To register your child or volunteer as a coach, please click here to complete the registration form by Friday, September 26th.
