At Most Holy Rosary Elementary School, we believe that sports and physical education are essential to fostering well-rounded, confident, and disciplined individuals. The Heightsmen: Our Basketball Team

Our Heightsmen basketball teams for boys and girls represent the heart of our Athletics program. These teams provide students in grades 3-6 with the opportunity to compete with other schools in the greater Syracuse community while cultivating teamwork, perseverance, and sportsmanship. The Heightsmen embody the spirit of Most Holy Rosary, showcasing not just athletic excellence but also character and community pride.

Physical Education Class

Physical education at Most Holy Rosary goes beyond just playing games. Each class starts with a structured warm-up, including jogging and exercises like jumping jacks, sit-ups, and push-ups. Following the warm-up, students receive guided instruction tailored to developing specific skills such as throwing, kicking, and passing. Within just one to two weeks, students confidently apply these skills during games and activities.

Our curriculum also features:

  • Holiday-themed games and activities.
  • Choice days where students can explore their interests.
  • Discussion of major sporting events like March Madness, the Super Bowl, the World Series, and the Olympics, connecting classroom learning with the broader world of sports.

Soccer Shots Program

In addition to our basketball and physical education offerings, students can participate in the engaging Soccer Shots program.
