Acts of Service at Most Holy Rosary Elementary School
At Most Holy Rosary Elementary School, we believe that cultivating a heart for service is integral to our students’ spiritual and personal development. Our Service Learning Program engages students in meaningful projects throughout the year, empowering them to actively give back to our local community. By participating in service initiatives, students learn the value of compassion, responsibility, and teamwork while reflecting the teachings of their Catholic faith.
Each grade level explores societal issues and selects a service project to address a specific need, allowing students to connect their academic learning with real-world challenges. Through this approach, students gain a deeper understanding of the obstacles facing our community and how they can contribute to positive change.
In the past, our students have participated in a wide range of impactful projects, such as:
- Creating care packages for troops overseas
- Supporting Operation Christmas Child
- Donating toys and books to Golisano Children’s Hospital
- Collecting food for local pet shelters
- Writing heartfelt cards for veterans
- Volunteering with Sarah’s Guest House
- Preparing Blessing Bags for a men’s shelter
A hallmark of our service program is the annual Grand Wrap It Event. Each student donates a new, unwrapped toy, which is gifted to families in need through the Brady Faith Center. This cherished tradition teaches students the joy of giving while making a meaningful impact during the holiday season.
We proudly partner with organizations such as Brady Faith Center, Sarah’s Guest House, and the Salvation Army to provide our students with opportunities to engage in impactful service projects. These collaborations not only support our local community but also help students develop a lifelong commitment to serving others.
By integrating service learning into our curriculum, Most Holy Rosary Elementary School strives to form compassionate, responsible individuals who understand the importance of giving back. Through these experiences, we nurture a generation of young leaders who view service as a vital part of their faith and their role in society.
